Our Vision
Gourmet Body Treats is a small family owned business that began for very personal reasons. Waleska, the creator of all our formulas had severe rosacea and hyper sensitive skin that was not helped by numerous trips to the Dermatologist. She began her personal quest to find products that would help her irritated and blemished skin, but when she was unable to find any she started making her own. She started in her kitchen with an idea for soap. Soon family and friends began asking to buy her soap for themselves and their children. A decade later Gourmet Body Treats continues to hand make all products from start to finish in hopes of helping others feel better about themselves while helping preserve the planet.
We constantly strive to produce high quality products that are ethically made and 100% natural. All of our products are 100% vegan and manufactured in our lab fresh daily from our hands to yours.
More about our Eco Friendly Business Practices
Our Ethics
* We give back to various charities thoughout the year. We partner with other companies that have this same ideal. Our printers are carbon neutral and our credit card processing company gives 10% of money made our chosen charity Dog and Cat Cancer Foundation
* Our packaging is selected to incorporate the highest recyclable content from safe and renewable sources with minimum environmental impact. We reuse packing and shipping materials we have received rather than generate new waste. We invite you to please reuse or recycle our packaging materials as well as our product containers.
* Because millions of trees are sacrificed each year for 17 billion catalogs, we refrain from mailing paper catalogs and invite our Guests to visit our Website to learn more.
* Over 28 billion gallons of water are wasted every year on making paper for junk mail therefore our Guests will be enjoying our free e-Newsletter when they Sign Up with us.
* Global carbon dioxide levels are higher today than at any other point the last 420,000 years. Because 82% of the increase in emissions is a result of burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and power our manufacturing facility runs on wind-powered energy.
* We are a member of The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) - Campaigning for Health, Justice, and Sustainability. The OCA is a grassroots, non-profit, public interest organization working specifically to protect our food supply. The OCA works on public education and encourages sustainable agriculture, fair trade, and product labeling of genetically engineered and irradiated food.
* We support the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and pledge that our products will meet the standards and deadlines set by the European Union Directive 76/768/EEC to be free of chemicals that are known or strongly suspected of causing cancer, mutation, or birth defects.
* Items that can't be reused are recycled. All office supplies including our trash bags and pens are made from 100% recycled content.
Our Ethical Product
Vegan
All of our products are 100% vegan and manufactured on site fresh daily from our hands to yours. We never use any ingredients that contain or sourced from animals or insects such as honey, lanolin, carmine, ect.
Not everyone who works at GBT (Gourmet Body Treats) is a vegan, but a love of animals is a standard in our offices, and we participate in many local charities for pets.
100% Natural & Non Toxic
We never use parabens, plastics, or any man made ingredient (except essential oils, which must be made from organic plant matter). Also we always use naturally derived food grade preservatives. Further more all of our ingredients are sourced in our local area when ever possible, and are organic. What ingredients we use from other countries is rigorously tested for 3 things.

Cruelty Free
We NEVER test our products on animals and insure that all of our raw ingredients have never been tested on animals either. We test for quality in our products on humans (which is a highly prize job here at our labs) We test for safety on willing volunteers, who are handsomely compensated for their aid in furthering science!
No Nano
We NEVER use any nano sized particles in any of our products.
Why is that?
Researchers in Finland and the US studied how certain nanoparticles interact with cells. Results indicated that nanoparticles may alter cell structure, causing the cells to die. Currently, nanoparticles are widely used in cosmetics, electronics, optical devices, medicine, and in food packaging materials. Nanoparticles may well be the asbestos of the twenty first century: a considerable threat to people`s health.
